Is anyone aware of a product that allows screed stakes to be set on top of the underslab vapor retarder without penetrating it? It seems a bit pointless to be specifying a thick vapor retarder, laps, seam tape, precast bar supports, etc., etc. when screed stakes are going to be driven through the whole thing.

Any help will be appreciated.

Vapor retarders are not especially sensitive to a few holes. Since the movement of moisture is by diffusion over a large surface area, having some small holes will not substantially increase the amount of moisture that migrates from the soil into the slab. Contrast this with underslab waterproofing, where hydrostatic pressure can force liquid water some distance beyond a hole and into cracks; or with an air barrier on an exterior wall, where air pressure forces flows of moisture-laden air into interstitial spaces.

I believe Stego has such a product.

They also have a product for wrapping/sealing screed pins/stakes.
