I am currently looking at collaboratively editing my Word specification documents with a client of mine. I have looked briefly at putting files on DropBox or OneDrive or using the Word "share" feature. We are looking at this approach to avoid the back and forth exchange of files. There has been problems in the past with the client editing old files while I was editing a newer version of the files.

Why not something like Google Docs to support real-time collaborative editing of the documents?

Hello David, VisiSpecs is setup for collaboration as projects can be shared easily using the cloud server. There is a Free 30 day trial and setup time would probably be minutes. You each use Word to edit and the editing features should make things more efficient. I'd be happy to help you both with this as it seems very easy to do.

Be cautious of Bluebeam. It will corrupt your Microsoft Word .dotx template.

Is your client already using a system...or other consultants? I've previously worked with Bluebeam Studio (public university) and currently with ProjectWise (project-design manager), both "driven" by upstream client's choice. I've been having some access difficulties with the latter, but I think it's from my login privileges not being setup correctly.
