Google downloading files

For example when I search on Google and the search result is for a PDF document, Google will direct me to save the file. Then I have to open the file with Adobe to view it. On my other computer I can just open up the PDF file in a new window in Google. I know that there is some switch to allow me to do this but I can't find it. Thanks. David G.
