Has anyone written a macro for Word 10 deleting all Hyperlinks and leaving normal text. Had one in Word XP.

Select all text (or as much as you want to fix) and press ctrl-shift-F9.

Thanks, Sheldon it perfect.

Did you discover that answer in a book of tips for working with Word 10, or did you just discover it by chance? If there any good books on Working with Word 10, please advise.

Sounds like such a macro will also remove the Spec Agent hyperlink?

That key combination removes all formatting from text. Ctrl-n will remove character format, but will not remove links. I've used these for years with different versions of Word, don't remember where I picked them up. Even though the interface changed (I'll never understand why they got rid of the easily customized toolbars and control of the right-click menu) the keyboard shortcuts have been fairly stable for a long time.

I just Googled "ms word shortcut keys" and found several good references. This one also includes sidebar links for shortcuts in Outlook, Excel, and more.

You can find just about anything on the web, including answers to many software questions. Choosing the right search term will vastly increase your chances of success. I just tried "ms word remove formatting" and got the usual million results. One of them, titled "How to remove all formatting in Word" offers ctrl-n as the solution. That wouldn't work for you, though, as it removes only character formatting, not links. The underline would be removed and the text would change to black, but the link would still be there.

I've always enjoyed poking around under the hood, and often found it necessary as the software companies seem unable to explain what their products do. To be fair, MS did create a very useful, but relatively unknown, animated guide for making the transition from 2003 to 2007. It's likely there are some differences in 2010, but much of it still is useful.

Thankyou again. That resolves it.

OK one more question. I'm working with two monitors and would like to have my mouse when I am at the far right hand side of my main main monitor come up on the left hand side of the left monitor. Is there a program or a setting for that?

If you have Windows 7, go to control panel, appearance and personalization, display, change display setting. I don't remember how I did it in earlier versions. Why are you doing it that way? Seems like an odd thing to do.

Is there an easy way to get rid of the SpecAgent formatting that ARCOM has burnedned us with? Will Sheldon's keystroke command work with that without messing up the rest of the styles?

Macros that ran on previous versions of Word should run on the latest version, too. You may have to copy them from the template they were previously stored (generally the 'normal' template) to a new template, depending on how you installed the new software. Word macros have been based on Visual Basic for Applications for some years now, and I'd be really surprised if they did not work in Word 2010.

I've found that deleting the "SAhyperlink" style from an ARCOM document will remove the SpecAgent formatting without messing up the underlying style. There doesn't seem to be a way to accomplish this globally on a folder of documents using Masterworks, but perhaps one of the resident wizards on this site can conjure up an appropriate macro.
