Apparently HUD still requires all the page numbers in the Project manual to be consecutively numbered. Does anyone have any suggestions on an efficient way to do this?

MasterSpec's MasterWorks has such a feature, but I have never used it.

If you compile all of your section files into a PDF binder, It is possible in Adobe Pro to add the page numbers in the footer using the Documents tools.
I use this tool to ID my project manual as a DRAFT and to add the date for the review and for the final issue.

I know this has been awhile but I just thought I should add a comment... We also use Adobe PDF page numbering for one of our clients. We have found, though, that if you want to compile the whole project manual into one PDF to be careful. You can't tell Adobe what pages to EXCLUDE.

So for our "front end" part and "Appendices" that are numbered separately we do each part by itself THEN combine all parts into one PDF. Works beautifully.

One client of mine demands the specification be submitted as *one* word file. It just so happens that the "Page" field accomplishes it when all the sections are combined, with Section Breaks separating them.

Similarly, I believe there is a field for each section's page numbers, just can't remember which one it is.

If you want to display the total number of pages in each section, try the field code: "{ SECTIONPAGES }". I'm not sure what kinds of section break resets the code to 1, so you would have to experiment.
