What brand/model do you recommend for a fast high volume laser printer for spec work? |

I'm not sure if you are talking about a one-person shop or not. For us, one of our photocopiers, a Canon Imagerunner, is networked, allowing me to print directly to it, with 3-hole paper, back-to-back. Extremely fast, and great for single copies. For reproduction, back-to-back also means I don't have to worry about adding blank sheets to sections with odd number of pages since each section prints as a separate document.
For smaller printers, HP Laserjets seem to me to be the most reliable workhorses out there. My wife has one that has printed more than 1.5 million pages and is still running. |

I'm a one person office and I use an HP Laserjet 4250n. It is rated at up to 45 pages a minute. Going on 2 1/2 years now with no problems. When I opened my own office, the advice I was given by other independent spec writers was get the fastest printer you can afford. Glad I did. |

My printer is Adobe PDF - beats a Laserjet hands down. FTP to the client's site, and I'm done. When we set up, we decided we were in the consulting business, not the printing business. No objections from clients. |
