It appears that some jurisdictions have completely lost their collective minds and deserve to be sent to their own dark hole, never to see the light of day again - https://www.linkedin.com/posts/bill-browning-terrapin_windowless-dorm-rooms-should-be-banned-activity-6987853128071028736-jGTf?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_android

I pray that someone helps those poor kids from this horrible fate because if these people can get away with doing this, guess what's next for the rest of us.

They built a one at my alma mater, University of Michigan.

I think it is predicated on the idea that students don't spend much time on their dorm room. The money quote at the above link: "Supposedly, the way they structured it was a design decision to force people to spend more time in the common area; that just didn’t pan out the way they expected."

I am very glad I never lived in someplace like that.

Phil, I thought the same thing.

I'll bet someone could make a lot of money selling 4 to 12 pound hammers and cold chisels on campus with "make your own window" instructions

Those dorm rooms better have very effective and reliable ventilation systems.
