Below is the last sentence in the architect's reply: "Thanks for your help. Without a spec it would have been difficult getting the quality we ended up with. Thanks." Early in my career, a project manager told me that "Whenever there was a problem on the project, I could look in the spec and find an answer." That kept me going in the spec field.
