I am organizing my old records/files and contacted a previous client to get some information on a past project. Below is the last sentence in the architect's reply:

"Thanks for your help. Without a spec it would have been difficult getting the quality we ended up with. Thanks."

I wish every architect in the world could see what he wrote.

Nice letter. Early in my career, a project manager told me that "Whenever there was a problem on the project, I could look in the spec and find an answer." That kept me going in the spec field.
