For my M. Arch. students, I’m building a 100-question practice CDT exam. It will be online using a learning management system called "Canvas," which I’ve adopted over the past year. If this is successful, I plan on making it available CSI chapters and members. The software is quite sophisticated. I can create question banks based on the 8 domains of the CDT, and I can set the number of questions for each domain based on the current CDT exam percentages. Therefore, students may not get the same questions every time they try the exam (I've set it for unlimited tries). Also, the answers are shuffled, so if they do get the same question, the correct answer may not be in the same place. On top of that, it will have a 2-hour time limit. This will be as close to the real thing as I can make it. I have created 20 questions of my own so far, but if you have any questions that I can load into the question bank, please send them to me (sorry current and immediate-past members of the certification committee, you cannot participate). Please send your question suggestions via email to rgeren@taliesin.edu. For each question, please provide the correct answer and three distractors. If you know which domain it should be located, please include that, too. Thank you everyone in advance. Ron Geren, FCSI, AIA, CCS, CCCA, SCIP www.specsandcodes.com |

Well, everyone, the CDT Practice Exam site is up and running as a BETA version from now until the end of June 2015. Thank you to Walter Scarborough for the multitude of questions--I'm still going through them and adding them to the item bank. If you are interested in participating as a BETA tester, please send me your name and email address to ron@specsandcodes.com. I will add your name and you will receive an email from Instructure, which provides the Canvas learning management software that I'm using. The email will be an invitation to join the "CDT Practice Exam (BETA)" class with a link to finalize the registration. As BETA testers, I will give you a free registration when it goes live that you can either use for yourself or transfer it to someone of your choosing.
