Psychiatric room padding

I know that there are actual pads that can be hung on the walls (and floors); there are panelized systems, and I've heard that there are pick-proof coatings that provide minimal padding but can be applied directly to walls and floors. Our owner is looking to us to make a recommendation, so what is the current state of the art on these products and system? Any recommendations or "don't ever use this" comments? I remember that there was some inherent property of their product that made it stand apart as superior to the competition, something that the competition doesn't even mention, so be alert if you need to 'shop around'. In all seriousness, you might want to check with someone who does correctional projects, I seem to remember running into these when doing detention facilities, but I don't remember where we specified them. Personally, I'd probably place it in 11 73 00 "Patient Care Equipment" since its intended purpose is to protect (care) for the patient. You might number and title it as 11 73 13 "Pshyciatric Padding" (notice I used a gerund to make it a work result!) :-) Ronald L.
