Does anyone know what Protective Treatment, Inc. (PTI) and Norton Specialties Div. are named?

They both make (or made) tape sealant.

I don't know about PTI but Norton tape sealants are now Saint Gobain.

Bonding and Attachment Tapes

Norton® closed-cell foam bonding tapes, with high-performance pressure-sensitive adhesive on both sides, provide a desirable alternative to mechanical fasteners. Norton bonding tapes are highly conformable, durable, weather resistant, and are clean and easy to use, either by hand or in automated applications....

Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Corporation is the name of unit that purchased Norton, that's right here on 4Specs.

PTI may be part of HB Fuller, which is what searches on the web seem to lead to. However, that's not certain, and the HB Fuller site makes no mention of it. They may still be officially under their own name still.

Gerald,

I use the generic term "joint sealant tape" in my specifications and in drawings.

Illbruk (spelling?) is another source for joint sealant tapes.

Wayne-

illbruck (not capitalized)

The website (www.illbruck.com) mentions another merger/spin-off/whatever. I paste the following as an example of contemporary legaleze:

The former illbruck GmbH business divisions Bath Installation Systems, Acoustic Systems and the US business illbruck, inc. were separated from the illbruck business division Sealant Systems on August 31st 2005. The former illbruck business divisions Bath Installation Systems, Acoustic Systems and the US business illbruck, inc. are now independent from illbruck Bau-Technik International GmbH, illbruck Holdings Ltd. UK and their affiliates and are neither financially nor legally connected with illbruck Bau-Technik International GmbH, illbruck Holdings Ltd. UK or their affiliates.
