Help!

I'm a little out of my league on this one. I have a project where individual panes of glass from a historic steel window frame need to be replaced. This isn't a full restoration project, but a tenant improvement project.

Many years ago, much of the space was converted from a 1920's ballroom (8th floor) for use as a mechanical room, and portions of the exterior windows were used used for air intake by removing the glass and installing a louver behind the window frame.

Now the space is being reclaimed for offices, and the areas where the glass was removed need to be replaced.

I have the Part 2 materials (glazing clips and glazing compound per ASTM C 669), but I need some assistance on the execution requirements.

Ron,

It's a good bet that the original windows were by Hope's Windows. I would suggest contacting them for assistance.

I have a local contact here in So. California, but if I remember correctly, you are in Phoenix.

Phoenix is correct. It's hot (98 deg) and getting hotter.

I'll try Hope's Windows. There's a rep (according to their website) in Scottsdale.

Thanks!

Let me know if you have any trouble in which case I could check with my rep here.

Richard:

I called the rep here in Scottsdale. He explained the process, which, apparently, hasn't changed over the years. He did say that they have started using glazing tape in lieu of the back bedding. But, the face glazing "remains the same" as it always has.

Thanks for your help.
