I posted this on CSI Connect, but not sure if anyone reads those posts. My question is - has anyone participated in a virtual plant tour? Our chapter is considering one as a monthly meeting, but wanted to get any insights into anyone who has done it before.

I recently hosted a virtual hospital tour for a new healthcare campus. There were 50+ participants from the local AIA chapter, and it seems to go pretty well. We started with a short (10 min) video of the facility, including snippets of interviews with members of the construction team, then I had a powerpoint slide deck with facts and figures, and more detail oriented photos, and then I had a "panel" of representatives from the Owner, Contractor, Arch and Med Planner and we discussed challenges and highlights of the nearly 5 year long project. The presentation was about 1 hour total, and seemed quite well received. It was hosted via Microsoft Teams, and people without Teams could participate as guests online without needing any download. We had a Q&A Session at the end and frequently stopped along the way to see if there were questions. Didn't get many, which was a bit of a bummer, but technically, the event went smoothly, and it was fun to talk to some members of project team that called in to join the fun.

It can be done, but visuals are key. Be sure to TEST your ability to host video and audio over whatever meeting software you are using. It's a bit tricky, though Teams was pretty straightforward. Zoom...not so much.
