I just received my email from Institute saying its time to renew my CDT certification. No problem, I have more than enough credits. But the cost is $160 for a member and $180 for a non-member. Steep prices to retain my credential on top of the high cost of CSI membership. And I would have thought CSI members might get a much better deal than non-members. I know this is a business decision, but how many younger members who got their CDT three years ago are going to renew? Am I getting that old that I'm complaining about the cost of everything? |

There was a time when the CDT was a pay one time if you passed its exam…and it was not a certification you put after your name if you had other CSI certifications. Then they revised that and started requiring learning units for the CDT and a renewal fee. It was only a matter of time when those chargers were going to increase. William C. I had to pass the CDT to try for the CCS back in the late 90s, but didn't pass the CCS. I always looked at the CDT as the specifier's equivalent to the EIT. I dropped it a couple years ago when they started charging for it. |
