I looking for a concrete product to overlay over an existing slab for an ADA compliant landing in front of doors. The new overlay would be approximately 2” thick to a feathered edge. I’m concerned that regular concrete will chip and disbond from the existing conc. I thinking an acrylic admix along with a bonding agent between new and existing conc. would work. Any suggestions on products, warnings, feedback would be appreciated. Rafael

Good preparation of the existing slab to make sure that there are no deleterious substances remaining, and that there is a good rough surface to bond to. I'd also sawcut the existing concrete at the thin edge of the topping slab and chisel out the concrete behind to a depth of 3/4 to 1 inch so that you are not really feathering to zero. There are numerous admix products that can be used, I don't have a specific recommendation for manufacturer. |

I'd look at specialty patching and underlayment products from someone like Euclid Chemical. |
