Any ideas how to spec a glass ramp? It is several feet wide by 20 feet long (give our take). It will be backlit from below. Thanks. |

I presume that your how-to inquiry is primarily based on the structural aspects of such an installation? If so, Saflex has some structural design information for thickness of glass for floors. |

Have you looked at either http://circleredmont.com/products.html or http://www.saint-gobain-glass.com/exen/b01.asp?product_id=956 ? I believe they are both still viable URL's

Robin, I had to do some research last year on glass floors. Circle Redmont and OldCastle Glass were both helpful. One important factor with glass on a ramp will be slip resistance. An abrasive blast finish is recommended. If the designer is okay with it, glass block is an option too. |
