One of our offices suggested a urethane concrete substitution to an epoxy flooring system. This is the link they gave to the product: http://www.epoxysolutions.com found under "Food Processing". The question isn't the substitution, but rather the environmental aspects of the proposed product. I haven't been able to find much on the web searching for "urethane concrete".... The hope is to find out more about urethane concrete and any environmental values it might have. Has anyone had any experience with urethane concrete? |

Urethane Concrete flooring systems have been available for many years. These systems are well established in Europe and in the US, the food processing industry is moving to these systems to replace polyester or vinylester systems. They have have superior durability, are water-based, can be applied in cool damp conditions, and have little or no odor during installation. General Polymers manufactures industrial flooring based upon epoxy, urethane, urethane concrete, novolac, polyacrylate and vinyl and polyester base chemistries. The key benefits of the urethane concrete are quick installation, good chemical resistance (always check for specific chemical exposure prior to specification), good durability and no problem with moisture vapor transmission from the concrete slab. You can find more information on this type of flooring on our web site (www.generalpolymers.com) or call us at 800-543-7694 (Cincinnati, OH). |

Heather: Selby also has a product called "Ucrete" that might be what you're looking for. Selby's website doesn't give you much information, you may need to make a phone call to find out more. |
