What standards should be specified for quality of the interior marble flooring (tile), i.e., color, texture, variation in color, etc...ANSI A 108 and TCA Handbook talk about installation and not the material quality. ASTM C 503 is for exterior marble and not interior. Any suggestions? |

The Marble Institute of America has a very nice 3 ring binder with lots of guide specifications, details, etc. There is a cost for the publication. They do have some additional on-line resources you can look at too. See www.marble-institute.com |

Jerome, Though ASTM C503 is for exterior stone, that does not mean you can't use it for interior. Its you the specifier that selects the criteria to which a product is required to comply. I have used it for years with no complaint from any contractor or even specific installers, and we do a lot of stone interiors in building lobbies. William |
