We received an RFI from a Contractor asking what type of coating should be applied to a gunite rainwater collection pond? We've specified gunite swimming pools with plaster top coating, but that seems like overkill for rainwater collection pond.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

go to your favorite special coatings manufacturer (Tnemec, or other) and see what coatings they recommend for "potable" water tanks. they all have a couple of those, and that's what you want.

Why do you want a coating and what do you expect it to do?
