In a LEED-CI project, we wanted to introduce triple strategies of reducing overhead lighting to lower ambience luminance but offset it with daylight harvesting using PV sensors to dim lighting fixtures adjacent to the windows coupled with introducing tasklighting.

We need to beat ASHRAE 90.1 LPD by at least 10% to qualify for LEED-CI (EA prereq 2). Our MEP only wanted to simulate LPD based on no daylight fenestration, but we can only get 13 W/SM, not enough!

My question to you learned professionals, are (a)whether indeed we need to include daylight in the simulation (ASHRAE does not indicate) and if we do, what would be the basis of determining the incoming lux? And (b) must the power consumption by task lighting be included in the LPD calculation?
