In lieu of a LEED Certified building, will the assessor agree to an alternate rating scheme such as Australia's Green Star or UK's BREEAM etc...Working in Asia, there are not that many LEED certified buildings here.
Or must it be absolutely LEED certification? |

well, if you want a LEED plaque on the wall, you need to use LEED. The USGBC isn't really in a position to verify the criteria for someone else's rating system.
depends on who is requesting the "certification"; if its the Owner, then ask them. if its a governmental agency and LEED is written into the approvals, you probably don't have a lot of choice. if its your office, you can have the conversation. |

I believe the question is in regard to the credit for Commercial Interiors where 3 points are given when the interiors work is associated with an existing LEED certified building.
The question should be asked of USGBC, but my opinion would be no. However, the program allows 1/2 points for up to 12 sustainable features that the existing building may have. Maybe some of those 1/2 points can be used by analyzing the other rating system used by the existing building. |

I agree with Ronald, but there's also the "Alternative Compliance" option. If you write a convincing narrative it may fly. Worst case scenario they send it back to you for clarification and you slog through the half point documentation...
More likely you could get as many 1/2 points as possible and then submit the alternate rating for one of your ID credits.
