Don't we specify based on "results"...among others? In this case the "result" is a vertical wall surface...siding (Div 07). |

My vote is 074213.13 Formed Metal Wall Panels. Section 074213 Metal Wall Panels is an upper level section that includes: 074213.13 Formed Metal Wall Panels 074213.16 Metal Plate Wall Panels 074213.19 Insulated Metal Wall Panels 074213.23 Metal Composite Material Wall Panels Yes specify how the product is used, for example steel pipe can be used as a plumbing pipe, electrical conduit, handrail or bollard. Even though it may be the same material, those steel pipes are specified in different sections. David G. Axt, CCS, CSI, SCIP Specifications Consultant Axt Consulting LLC |

Off topic, but David's comment is not exactly true. All pipe is not conduit, and all conduit is not pipe. May look the same, but if there are different labels, they are different products. Would not want to use Electrical Metallic Tubing or EMT for plumbing because of wall thickness, connectors, and the ability to handle a dynamic load. |

Regarding Michael's comment, keep in mind also that 1-1/2 inch pipe and 1-1/2 inch tube, for example, have different I.D. and O.D. dimensions. |
