Depending on products & applications, there are a few possibilities:

MasterFormat has 108200 Grilles & Screens, 108213 Exterior Grilles & Screens, and 10 8219 Exterior Sound Screens.

I have riffed on these with 108215 Exterior Equipment Screens (for metal panel systems, usually acoustical) + 108216 Rooftop Equipment Screens (for CityScapes "Envisor" equipment-mounted screens).

MasterFormat also has 089200 Louvered Equipment Enclosures.

This is a simple patio screen enclosure, manuf from painted aluminum for an adult congregate living facility.

Then 108213 Exterior Grilles & Screens fits the bill. I would probably change the title to something more specific like "Exterior Architectural Screens" or "Exterior Patio Screens."

Jeffrey, So I can just change 108200 to another section name, you mean the spec police won't be upset? This is a HUD job, I don't want to cause a riff.

Sorry, its been a tough day.

Jerome, I think you're safe.

I use made-up section names & numbers all the time, including on HUD projects. MasterFormat is designed for that flexibility, and HUD reviewers are typically looking for other, very specific things.

I also create new numbers and titles, but I don't change the title of an assigned number or the number of an assigned title.

The people in this forum worry about these things far more than anyone else. I would be shocked if any client commented on section numbers or titles they had not already claimed as their own.
