CSI supports MasterFormat in its current format. Updates are made annually, but are published biannually. I don't know how often MasterFormat.com is updated, whether it's annually or biannually. It's updated on a continual basis as recommendations come in, but republished periodically. For example, the IBC identifies the reference standards it uses in Chapter 35, but some may not be the latest versions published at that time. HUD is also still enforcing the 1984 Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS) for federally assisted housing and not the more recent (2004) ABA Standards that has been adopted by every other federal agency. My interpretation of their intention is to use the 6-digit numbering system, and don't imagine they would care (or even notice) if current section numbers & titles were used instead of 2010 versions. MEP has not been so lucky. Unfortunately the rules are changing, as do the Peer Reviewers, each with their own priorities. Today I received a document from a Lender describing their Architectural Review Criteria (I wish I had this document prior to signing my current agreement). I guess answers will come to me as I continue to prepare specs for HUD projects. I do agree that HUD Reviewers could probably care less about Section Numbers, but I do.
