Where do you specify Sure-Board? In the gypsum board section? In the Cold-Formed Metal Framing Section?

If you don't know Sure-Board, here is the website: www.sureboard.com

Something under 09-2800 - Backing Boards and Underlayments. Maybe 09-2833 - Steel-Faced Backing Board. That avoids having a bunch of sections, each based on a type of backing.

Interesting stuff, thanks for the heads-up!

I have only specified Sure-Board on one other project. Contractors hate it because it is heavy and hard to cut.

I just specified it for the first time (this is sort of like getting a new car and then noticing how many of the same model there are on the road). It's being used as a roof cover board for a re-roofing in CA, so it's in the roofing section. It was evidently recommended by the structural engineer to be provided over the existing deck.
