I'm trying to organize some miscellaneous schedules into MasterFormat numbers. Mostly to organize my office's on-drawing schedules (templates) into an easy to find manner.
The MF Manual says the following:
XX 06 00 Schedules - In a project manual application, schedules that relate to the work of only one Section should be located within that Section. Schedules that reference work results described by multiple Sections within a Division are consistently located at XX 06 00 as shown in the following example:
25 06 00 Schedules for Integrated Automation
25 06 11 Schedules for Integrated Automation Network
25 06 12 Schedules for Integrated Automation Network Gateways
25 06 13 Schedules for Integrated Automation Control and Monitoring Network
25 06 14 Schedules for Integrated Automation Local Control Units
25 06 30 Schedules for Integrated Automation Instrumentation and Terminal Devices
All new titles and numbers with the range of XX 06 00 to XX 06 99 should relate to schedules for subjects that apply to multiple Sections of that Division.
Anyway, the issue I've encountered, and it seems to be an inconsistency in the assigned numbers. For the above examples, the Level 3 digit of the Schedule number (and Schedule name) consistently lines up with the Level 2 number of the Section proper... for example:
25 06 11 ~ 26 11 00
Unfortunately, there are some discrepancies. For example:
23 06 50.13 Heating Boiler Schedule
It makes more sense to me, and seems to fit the system if this was instead numbered 23 06 52 to match the Section number of Heating Boilers (23 52 00).
Similarly, I'm doing a (rough) equipment wiring schedule. Thinking 26 06 05.83 to line up with Section 26 05 83. I'd normally include this on the drawings anyway; like I said this is just an organization tool for me. Thoughts? |
