What MasterFormat number is recommended to be used use for a Graywater Plumbing System section? They have found reference to 221600 (via a Google search) but this is not listed in the MF 2012 edition and there is a big jump from 221500 General Service Compressed-Air Systems to 223000 Plumbing Equipment. Has anyone here been asked to determine or have a recommendation for a section number for a separate Graywater Plumbing system? Thanks in advance. That would seem like the logical location to describe the system as a system. The individual Sections could reference back to the Division 01 Section to close the loop. The existing MF number 22 13 63 only describes the Gray Water Tanks. This is a whole recovery, distribution, and reuse system. There are states that are developing the code requirements for these systems and they require a special color coded purple (kind of a lavender color) for piping, pumps, and any access covers, plus special warning signage and ID requirements. After the gray water has been recovered either by rain, or from selected sinks and basins, it is stored and treated (Tanks). It is then routed to the gray water distribution end use, such as urinals and toilets, in addition to any irrigation systems. It then becomes either "Black" water and moves into the sanitary system or is run off from the irrigation system. I am looking to expanding around the numbers adjacent to the 22 13 63 Gray Water Tanks to add a section number and title for the other related systems. After this is released, I am encouraging the project engineers and system manufacturers to send in a recommendation to the MFMTT to consider potentially expanding the recommended MF04 number and titles in a future edition. The piping section will be in 22 11 00 category, actual number not yet decided; probably will be 22 11 33 or something like that. The products specified in this section will be much like domestic water piping. The system must deliver water with some pressure applied as opposed to sanitary sewerage or storm drainage which rely on gravity in most cases. However, system components do not have to meet requirements for potable water systems, which are now getting more stringent because of the no-lead legislation taking affect in January 2014. There is no need for a special section for plumbing pumps, although there could be. This will be just another pump in the schedule and has differing, but normal requirements for impellers and seals. Gray-water storage is similar to the piping. The tanks are the same, but don't have to comply with potable-water regulations and requirements. For gray-water storage, ARCOM will use 22 13 63 Facility Gray Water Tanks. G.
