ACCORDING TO 4SPECS, SECTION NUMBER IS 131100, BUT SHOULD THEY NOT BE SPECIFIED IN DIV 14 - FEEDBACK APPRECIATED. BTW, THESE BECOME LAW FOR ALL PUBLIC ACCESSIBLE POOLS AND SPAS ON MARCH 15, 2012. |

Well, it's a "People Lift", no matter where it's lifting from or to...similar to a Hoyer lift. It's not exclusively pool equipment, so I agree with you. How about 14 4146? (picked the "46" to go with "swimming pool accessories" and the "14 41.." for "people lifts") "46" is also far removed from the other people lifts listed in MasterFormat to separate it from that sort of equipment. |

Jerome: The following is from MasterFormat 2011 13 11 00 Swimming Pools 13 11 13 Below-Grade Swimming Pools 13 11 23 On-Grade Swimming Pools 13 11 33 Elevated Swimming Pools 13 11 43 Recirculating Gutter Systems 13 11 46 Swimming Pool Accessories 13 11 49 Swimming Pool Cleaning Equipment 13 11 53 Movable Pool Bulkheads 13 11 56 Movable Pool Floors 14 40 00 Lifts 14 41 00 People Lifts 14 41 13 Counterbalanced People Lifts 14 41 16 Endless-Belt People Lifts 14 42 00 Wheelchair Lifts 14 42 13 Inclined Wheelchair Lifts 14 42 16 Vertical Wheelchair Lifts 14 43 00 Platform Lifts 14 43 13 Orchestra Lifts 14 43 16 Stage Lifts 14 44 00 Sidewalk Lifts 14 45 00 Vehicle Lifts MasterFormat does not currently have a listing for aquatic lifts. While they would seem at first glance to be in 14 40 00, if they are considered "pool equipment" and are provided as part of a swimming pool subcontractor's scope of work, I could see the rationale for putting them as a child below 13 11 00 (yeah, I know that specifications do not define subcontractor work scope.) Since they are not currently in MasterFormat, you can specify them where you wish and not fear for a midnight knock on the door from the MasterFormat Police. I'd like to see this discussed in the MasterFormat Maintenance Task team meeting later this year. |

Thanks Lynn, David, actually it seems that CSI forgot to send me my Masterformat 2011 that I ordered end of last year, and I assumed it was just was late in being sent out. All hell is breaking out here in FL, the 2010 FBC and ADA 2010 become mandatory on 3/15/12, developers fearful of change (change = money) are being even more obnoxious than ever, fortunately specs are not required in most municipalities inf FL for permit, but still I wish I was on vacation this week. |

Its still a famine, the recession is still hitting hard here in So FL, construction has started again, but its going to take a few years before most firms get back on track...unfortunately I have a few colleagues in personal and professional foreclosure, really sucks for them, and I'm not far off from joining them, but I do have work and clients are slowly paying so maybe I'll be able to sleep thru the night soon. |

We're doing a lot of little remodels; the large projects are still out there, but few are committed. We're only moderately busy, with not much on the horizon. But things keep popping up when we're not looking, so I'm hopeful. |

I don't want to turn this thread into let's talk about our pets, but they really do know when you're down, a few minutes ago my cat jumped on my shoulder, nuzzled up to my face, jet engines roaring, and than fell asleep there while my wife's dog (now mine) fell asleep on my feet..so either they are being loving or they are hungry, could be a little of both, tried to take a picture with the camera phone, I really need a shave, so this pic will remain private. |

They do know! And they want to make you feel better (and not just so you can serve them, food or otherwise). |
