Where would I specify salvaging heavy timber beams and milling/finishing them into 1x interior finish panelling? |

If the salvaged timbers are from the same property that is to receive the finished panels, wouldn't this have to be dealt with in both the demolition and paneling sections? With appropriate cross-referencing of course. |

I would create a separate wood paneling spec (separate from any wood paneling in the scope using all new materials) because of the unique procurement and fabrication requirements that may involve a separate sub bid. But more to the point, because nice ideas like this at DD phase tend to disappear by Bid Award on a lot of our projects and separate Sections would make last minute editing the spec for construction a lot cleaner. |
