It sems LEED and other sustainability sections were not included in MF04. Anyone have an idea where they fit in? Both Arcom and BSD ahve added them but they are not the same and honestly, they don't make sense. Sustainable Design Requirements is in 018113 but LEED credit reporting is like 013329. Cart before the horse. Where can I find an "official" MF04 list of these required sections? Or do I make it up myself? |

We use: 01 81 13 Sustainable Design Requirements: This section will have the same title and number regardless of the certification method we are using for the project (one of the LEEDs or CHPS). We have multiple versions, but only one is ever used on a project. We have a "Sustainable Materials Attributes Submittal Form" which is attached to the Sustainable Design section. 01 57 33 Temporary Indoor Air Quality Control: This is of our own creation. They are temporary, so that's why I paired it with the temporary facilities area. As to the "cart before the horse," I'd urge that we don't think of Division 01 happening in chronological order. While there is a bit of that in its organization, it is really set up in groupings of types of activities. |

John, I agree with you about the chronological order. I'm just looking for something that makes sense to me and how I believe contractors think. i've rearranged some tof the numbers myself. I've put the credit summary report in the Summary activities group but this still doesn't make sense to me. That is really what I meant by cart before the horse. Describing the crdit requirments before you've even introduced them to the sustaniblity procedures or requirements which occur in 018113 in performance activities. Weird, but I will work it out. I like what the task team has done. It is very similar to what Speclink has done. Thank you everyone for your input. Hope some more people will chime in too. It's an interesting topic that goes to the heart of specification logistics and organization. |
