I'm tempted to put it in Division 49 - Stuff.

But I think it belongs somewhere around Section 02 42 00 - Removal and Salvage of Construction Materials. I used to use Section 02225 - Removals and Relocations. Inclusion of "Construction Materials" in the MF04 title seems to have muddled the subject, and there's sometimes more than merely "salvaging" involved.

How about 02 42 23 - Removals and Relocations?

I tend to agree with John that Division 02 is the best place, but I'm not keen on the level 2 classification.

02 40 00 is titled "Demolition and Structure Moving," and furniture and equipment relocation just doesn't seem to fit in.

I think this is a good opportunity to make use of the unassigned numbers and create 02 90 00 "Existing Furniture and Equipment Relocation," or something to that effect.

We have a Section "017413 Phased Packing, Moving and Storage." I don't know how we came up with that number, but I think it's more like temporary work than existing conditions. I don't see anything at all like this in Division 02--I see investigations, demolition, remediation and the like.
