Why doesn't Section 27 41 23 "Audio-Video Accessories" work? |

Because I don't write electrical specs. Colin put them in Section 11 5270 - TV Mounts and Lift Systems, which is not an official MF'04 section but may work. |

its a bracket. why isn't it just in finish carpentry (with the other shelving hardware); or metal fabrications or some other accessory type section. the wiring is in the wall; the stuff plugs into it, and sits on the bracket. |

Because the bracket is not attached to any casework. The brackets are not like an under counter keyboard tray or in-desk CPU mount. These brackets are hung from the structural members and penetrate the ceiling. Sometimes the brackets are mounted to directly to the walls. |

Who said that only electrical engineers can write Division 27 sections? |

I agree. I'll write a section in any division I think is appropriate. |

I made a category that seems logical in MF04: 11 5220 "Audio-Visual Equipment Accessories." I have yet to use this actual section because I haven't had a project w/ more than one or two items, but have used Level 3 sections: 11 5221 "Projector Lifts" 11 5222 "Monitor Supports" (for TV brackets) |

We cover them in 11 52 23. The '23' is derived from 27 41 23 - Audio-Video Accessories. |
