Has anyone used this material, or something like it? https://www.ardexamericas.com/product/ardex-pc-t/ I have a project where the Designers want polished concrete, and don't want to use the structural slab as the surface. Doing a depressed slab with a decorated topping slab is the usual solution, but this is an elevated deck so not a viable option. This leads me to looking for topical solutions to replicate or simulate the look. This is for a new construction hospital public space. Thoughts? |

Yep. Used it. Watch out for control joints from slab below and on one job we had microfracturing of the surface. Almost looked crackled, but stable. |

How thin was your application? Do you think it would be suitable in a hospital public area that serves the café, gift shop, waiting areas, main circulation, etc... ? |

Have you consider epoxy terrazzo? |

CTS Cement Manufacturing Corp. makes a similar product called Rapidset TRU, which we have looked into as well as the Ardex PC-T but I don't yet have feedback from the field on how they have worked. One thing I would like to offer is terminology for this type of product. It is not concrete topping, it has similar chemistry to underlayments but it will be exposed. Therefore we are calling it POLISHED CEMENT OVERLAYMENT to prevent confusion (I hope) |

Good morning Nathan, Have specified both Ardex and CTS products. Both are excellent. However, CTS offers a larger selection of colors. CTS is the current flavor of the month with my interior designers. Wayne |

We have used the CTS on projects with success. Ours were topping of existing floors - University Bldgs - Labs and Classrooms. Have also seen some inlay work from a decorative view point that looked good at University of Cincinnati. |
