Does anyone know of a manufacturer that can provide snow guards or snow rails for metal batten seam roofs? Batten is nominally 2 inches wide. Prefer attachment only on the batten.

They exhibited at CONSTRUCT and I was impressed. They would be my first consideration.

Harry Lubitz was the National Accts Mgr for S-5, within the past few years he switched to working for UGL and now reps Drylock. I believe Harry recently posted on 4specs per Drylock, Harry may still be able to offer his knowledge on the S-5 products.

I et with Harry yesterday. He seems pretty happy with UGL.

I did meet with S-5 at Metalcon here in Charlotte last week. They are in the process of hiring a couple of new reps. In the meantime they are providing full technical support from their home office. Go to https://www.s-5.com/ for contact info.

Looks like Colin deleted Harry's promo post, rightly so, it was inappropriate, IMHO Harry is still a good source on S-5 products, he is also a CSI member. In regards to Drylok its been around a longtime, Dr Lstiburek recommended its use in the past, however I've not seen any recent posts from him, it will be interesting if Dr Lstiburek comments on the devastation on Mexico Beach, or what is left of the structures after H Michael. I specified Drylok in the past, but never confirmed its viability. Cudos to Colin for being a great policeman. My apologies for any mistakes in this post, office A/C stopped working yesterday, waiting for repair, very unconfortable, with 86 degrees outside and the same inside. Seems, older specifiers like me, can not handle a little heat.

Actually S-5 did not exhibit at Construct 2018. They only exhibited, and gave a quick product pitch, at the SCIP event before Construct.

Their competitor, Ace Clamp, exhibited at Construct. (www.aceclamp.com)

Considering the size of their booth at Metalcon I guess they didn't have the budget to do both.

They did have free beer here in Charlotte.

A few months ago, I tried contacting Harry regarding S-5! snow retention systems. He is a very good presenter on that topic. I learned that Harry is now Architectural Sales Director for
UNITED GILSONITE LABORATORIES, INC. If you contact S-5! at 888-825-3432, you will be connected to your area representative.
