Does anyone have experience with architectural flush wood doors, wood veneer faces, from Oregon Doors? I know they are a long way from Boston, but they seem to have all the correct LEEDv4 and LBC criteria.

They have been proposed and accepted as an equal on several of our west coast projects by door subcontract bidders with no issues or problems I am aware of.

No personal experience or meetings with their product reps though.

Their portfolio shows projects mostly on the west coast and Nevada, with outliers as far away as Texas.

Yes I have specified Oregon Doors for many years without any problems. They build good doors and are within 500 miles of Seattle.

Lisa,

As a reminder, the 500 mile distance is reduced to 100 miles in LEED v4.

If you like left coast wood door products we are also proud of Vancouver Door and Lynden Door.

Wayne,
Our project is in Boston, but we need LBC v3.1 compliant (red list free and 100% FSC) flush wood doors. Oregon Door can do this, with the added bonus of Declare labels. This is good stuff for LEEDv4 too. Being from the East Coast, I had never heard of Oregon Door before.

Lisa,
No offense but you are going to ship a door over 3,000 highway miles just to meet Living Building Challenge?! Certainly there has to be a closer manufacturer that can provide doors that meet those requirements.

David,
Wood doors are particularly challenging for LBC compliance. Right now we've got two options, Oregon Door and Graham Doors (a division of Assa Abloy). Sometimes you just do the best you can.

More questions about wood doors:
Now that Masonite has bought Assa Abloy wood doors (Graham) and VT Industries has bought Eggers wood doors, we need more options!
What do you know about Lambton Doors in Quebec?
Who else has a good regional wood door manufacturer to brag about?

I have never heard of Lambton Doors.

I specify Lyden Doors (Lynden, WA) all the time and get great service from their rep Dick Moreno.

So Masonite has bought Graham AND Marshfield/Algoma doors?

We include Lambton Doors in our master, we have an independent hardware/door representative in our area who represents them.

The current MasterSpec section lists Eggers and VT separately -- perhaps they are still being marketed under separate entities. Oshkosh Door Company is also listed, in addition to Lambton.

MasterSpec doesn't get updated often enough for this kind of information.
Who else lists Oshkosh Door Company in their specifications? I'm thinking about adding Lambton and Oshkosh to our masters.

According to Colin's changes log, VT acquired Eggers in December 2018.

Last I checked in April 2018 Oshkosh produced doors to AWI and WDMA standards and would provide AWI certificates. The use hot-press fabrication.

I have specified Oshkosh for years. But even though many of my projects are located in the upper Midwest, I don't recall ever getting their products on a project, so I cannot speak to their quality. But I did have a rep from a respectable competitor indicate that Oshkosh products were fair competition.

Despite several attempts to get information from Lambton, I cannot get them to give me the time of day.
