Once again I ask my friends on this forum if they have any new experience with this product since my last thread in 2015? Its being considered as a replacement for Stucco in So FL, so I ask my friends in Texas and Calif, are you specifying Thermocromex?

Jerome, I recently specified it for a project in Miami. It has not been installed yet and the CM is apparently not wanting to use it.

I also have specified Thermocromex for a South FL project. Being in the PNW it a product I had never heard of before. It does have great marketing.
I recently attended ARC US 2017 in Miami. I mentioned the product during a networking session to negative response.
I do not know if the project is continuing with this product.

One of my clients is also interested in using Thermocromex, I will specify it, but will not recommend it. The client reached out to a trusted WP Consultant who was negative about its use, esp on a condo building. The WP Consultant advised that moisture intrusion had been visible adjacent to fenestrations, again hard to say if this was due to Thermocromex, but if it has waterproofing value why the moisture intrusion? I hope the WP Consultant performs testing, love to know what failed, many times poor sealant application (or none at all) causes these problems in So Florida construction. Thanks for sharing Wayne, et al.

Steve, is the project a Condo? The Condo Vultures are hovering, stucco failure has been a favorite for past litigation, now they are setting their sites on Thermocromex, one of those vultures has already voiced objection to its use, if your building is a condo, be extra careful, have an envelope consultant as part of the team may help, or as my late father would say, "it coldn't hurt".

Jerome,
I am looking at Thermocromex that has been installed horizontally on the underside of a cast in place concrete balcony (deep)othroughout a condominium building in coconut grove. Do you know of any buildings that have had it installed and how it has performed?
Thanks in advance
Gibson

Faena Forum Art Center on Miami Beach, I wrote the specs, Luis Revuelta was the architect, it is featured on Thermocromex website. http://thermocromex.com/references-pictures/

I tried to use it on a 30 story condo in Sunrise, FL, however it failed to achieve the desired effect on mock-ups, amazing failure, manufacturer had plenty of time to get the best applicator, the Developer scrapped the use of Thermochromex from the project. Suggest you contact Michael Starks, Mike is a Stucco and masonry consultant in Orlando, he might have more experience (407) 588-2561 office(407) 709-9001 cell; good luck.

Gibson, you may also reach out to David Ser at SB Architects in Coral Gables, David was the project manager on Palm Court, a commercial project built in Miami's Design District, Thermocromex was used on that project 5 years ago. May I ask, did Thermocromex fail on your project?
