Please define your terms. In my mind, "composite wood" includes plywood and OSB, etc.

Toward which LEED credit do you want to apply the product?

Interior or exterior

perhaps a better term would be "Simulated Wood".

The product being used currently is called Woodn: WOODN MODULATUS TH14830HD_4: Exterior grade Wood Composite ceiling panels produced by means of extrusions consisting of a proprietary compound with a high percentage of virgin polymer (PVC, min.55%), natural wood fibers (Bamboo, min. 22%), enriched with an exclusive blend of anti UV / aging / fire retardant / bacteria / oxidation additives, free from solvents, harmful volatile substances, heavy metals or formaldehyde. Resistant to woodworms and parasites, anti-vegetative and free from cracks and chips in presence of moisture or after cutting, drilling and sawing. Manufactured in China.

I'd run screaming from that one. Nothing about a PVC-sawdust blend, pumped full of chemicals, and made in China sounds sustainable to me.

I have specified Trex for custom louvers (in FL), but not sure about the LEED aspect

Couple ideas:

Fiber-cement trim boards like HardieTrim.

Poly-ash composition trim: Boral Composites Inc., Roswell GA (BoralTruExterior.com); BoralŽ TruExteriorŽ -- formulation composed of polymeric blend, fly ash and glass fibers.
