I typically specify PPG Acrylic Latex 11-53 Series paint for parking areas, however on HUD work I must least at least 3 vendors. I need equivalent products and am on a deadline for Friday, can anyone offer these products from manufacturers like SW or BM, Thanks.

Jerry, can you just make the specification generic, and specify acrylic-latex paint manufactured (or recommended by the manufacturer for) parking lane striping and traffic markings?

Dave, the AoR prefers we list three manufacturers, they want to avoid the GC submitting an unknown manufacturer.

Jerry,
Try S-W Pro-Park Waterborne Traffic Marking Paint.
They have a bunch of others, but I don't know how they compare.

I've never knowingly used it but Rust-Oleum Corp has a pavement marking paint called "2300 System Traffic Zone Striping Paint" according to MasterSpec in their Section 321723.

MasterSpec also has this language where Type N indicates 15-30 minute drying time, Type F is faster, and Type S is slower:
A. Pavement-Marking Paint: Alkyd-resin type, lead and chromate free, ready mixed, complying with AASHTO M 248, [Type N] [Type F] [Type S]; colors complying with FS TT-P-1952.

or you can just refer to MPI #32 traffic marking paint for alkyd or MPI #97 for latex.

Does your DOT publish test reports? If so, you should be able to rely on them.

FDOT has approved products lists...as do most other state transportation departments.
