Anyone care to provide a guesstimate of cost to provide and install a pair of 36" x 96" frameless interior glass doors with all hardware in a commercial setting. I want to advise an architect how nuts he is to call for these on a HUD financed project, to be used in a Clubhouse for Rental Units. I could condone one door, but there are several doors, including doors to a Media Center and Children's Play Area. |

Hard to be precise because there are so many variables, but easily over $10,000 per opening, and up from there if you have complex access control and operators. Maybe a little less for simple interior pair without need to lock. Hardware (hinges/pivots and pulls) is relatively simple when no need to lock or use closers, and often supplied by the door manufacturers. But when you start talking floor mounted closers, operators, access control, locking - you could spend as much or more for hardware as you do for the doors. |
