Has anyone else heard of this company before? I have been asked to specify their Equitone fiber cement a couple of times last year. It looks like they have just started a new USA website and they are cold-calling specifiers, appears they have honeycomb metal composite wall panels and some other cladding types, have been at it for 25 years originating in Australia. http://www.fairviewarchitecturalusa.com/vitrabond-information/ However, their blog goes back to September. Their Australia website seems to have been indexed going back to 2011. http://www.fairviewarchitectural.com.au/about.html |

Chris, yes, i looked into this company several months back when I was cold called by a new rep in my area. It looked to be a promising source for ACM with some (claimed) unique offerings for big panel sizes, among other things. I was getting ready to add them to my Master specification, but after calling a local metal panel cladding fabricator/erector, decided against it. You might do the same - i got a more objective point of view about the company from the fabricator that convinced me not to add to the Master. |

Anon, If you are going to question a supplier, please let us know who you are so this does not become a forum for backstabbing competitors. Michael Chusid, RA FCSI CCS www.chusid.com www.buildingproduct.guru |

I received a call just yesterday from Fairview. I am also planning to talk to fabricators but I cannot let their opinions be the last word. For me the best evidence of an acceptable product is one that has been in service for some time. This, unfortunately, puts start-ups at a disadvantage but I must serve my CLIENTS the best way I can. |

With composite panels, the fabricator (who usually installs the fabricated stuff) is critical. They not only fabricate the panels, but usually choose the attachment system. |

Mr. Sandoz - I agree, let someone else be the guinea pig and "test" a new product. Anyone remember (or specify) Sucoflex PVC roofing? |
