Back in the 1960s there was a louvered screen called Koolshade. I was looking for it today, but all I found was from England or Australia.

I'm guessing it became extinct in the US when people stopped using operable windows on schools & commercial buildings. Does anybody know if it is still around in the US?

Paul, I don't understand the purpose of listing the Koolshade ad unless you are profiting from it, which you probably hope to do. Hopefully Colin will delete your post for what it is, futile attempt at marketing a product, I admit I wasted my time to look at it, time I will never get back, thaks so much for that.

Jerome,

We have a project where the A/E designed a clerestory over an information desk at the main entry to a community college, and the winter sun is getting in peoples' eyes. I need to find a sunscreen that diffuses the light and won't make the sky seem gloomy on a cloudy day like solar film often does. I remembered this product from long ago, and thought it might help. I only posted the ad because I expect that many of the younger forum members wouldn't remember the product.

I am not trying to market anything. I'm just looking for information, and this is one of the best sites to find information.

Depending on how much glazing you have, Solera would be a really good option, but it would mean replacing the glazing in the existing frames.

3m window films are another, much less expensive option.
