I have spec'd TAKTL panels for rainscreen cladding systems (w/ flat facade panels). I also have one project where they are being spec'd (along w/ two competitors) specifically as an alternate to GFRC. This application involves fairly complex panel designs w/ 3-D perforation patterns. The architect expects higher quality and better capability from the UHPC (ultra high-performance concrete) manufacturers like TAKTL, in exchange for higher cost. The alternate will determine the exact cost differential so the case can be made for improved quality of the finished product. Jeffrey Wilson CCS CSI SCIP Wilson Consulting Inc Ardmore PA |

Yes. It is the cladding du jour in our large architectural office. We have it on a couple buildings and scheduled for more. So far, so good. very nice material, the company seems to know what they are doing, and i think the risk to us is very low since this is a cement-based product that is attached to the building over a secondary line of defense (sheathing/WRB). Looks great, very durable, no issues to report. |

There is another excellent UHPC panel available if you are looking for true equals to TAKTL, as GFRC is a completely separate product mix and quality, called Envel made with Ductal by LaFarge. |
