I am trying to develop a specification for this stuff, and the guide spec that I am using references IBC Section 711 - Smoke Partitions. The correct section number is 710, but in going through that section, I don't see anything about smoke baffles or smoke containment system. Can someone point me to the part of the IBC that requires this stuff? J. Peter Jordan, FCSI, AIA, CCS, LEED AP, SCIP

Try 712, I think the term used in the IBC is "draft curtain." I think it also shows up in Chapter 10 as well. |

Reference to draft curtain occurs in 2016 IBC 1019.3.4 and 712.1.3.1. |

Thanks; I had always heard them described as smoke baffles. MasterFormat has a section number and name in Division 07 for Smoke Containment Systems which is a little closer, but may not be entirely accurate. J. Peter Jordan, FCSI, AIA, CCS, LEED AP, SCIP
