I am trying to develop a specification for this stuff, and the guide spec that I am using references IBC Section 711 - Smoke Partitions. The correct section number is 710, but in going through that section, I don't see anything about smoke baffles or smoke containment system.

Can someone point me to the part of the IBC that requires this stuff?

Try 712, I think the term used in the IBC is "draft curtain." I think it also shows up in Chapter 10 as well.

Reference to draft curtain occurs in 2016 IBC 1019.3.4 and 712.1.3.1.

Thanks; I had always heard them described as smoke baffles. MasterFormat has a section number and name in Division 07 for Smoke Containment Systems which is a little closer, but may not be entirely accurate.
