In MasterSpec, many sections include, under Part 2 "Performance Requirements," the paragraph "Thermal Movements:" along with a subparagraph that includes the temperature range (ambient and material surfaces) to be accounted for by the person engineering the system/assembly. By default, the range is "120 deg F, ambient; 180 deg F, material surfaces".

I'm wondering, when projects range across the country/world and climate zones, how many of us modify those numbers to reflect the climatic conditions where a project is located?

Also, does anyone have a good source (website maybe?) for the climatic conditions where a project is located?

I used to look up historical data on NOAA's website but have not been able to find similar data on NOAA's site over the past 4 or so years.

Thanks.
