Any thoughts on preparing a specification for a prefabricated toilet room? Healthcare setting. |

Phil, if you're referring to off-site fabricated modular toilet room assemblies, I developed a Division 13 office master I'd be happy to share. My spec addresses the assembly of multiple components that are spec'd in other sections, along with provisions for protection, transit, storage & erection of modular units. It also allocates the division of work between factory & project site. Jeff at WilsonConsultingInc dot com Jeffrey Wilson CCS CSI SCIP Wilson Consulting Inc Ardmore PA |

When I learned of these prefabricated toilet rooms a few years ago, I submitted a proposal to MasterFormat for a new number/title for Section 134213 - Bathroom Unit Modules, and it was accepted. Alas, I have not yet had the chance to write such a section. I imagine the specifications would be similar to those for a shower enclosure, but with electrical connections added, or perhaps to a controlled environment room if the prefabricated unit is a modular installation. |

Jeffrey, I would like to see that specification also, especially since it addresses components specified in other sections. That seems to be the way some contractors are approaching pre-fabricated toilet rooms. My e-mail is jsandoz@fkp.com |

APPLAUSE for Jeffrey Wilson. He is an example of one of the benefits of this forum, a fellow specifier willing to help another specifier. I wish this was true in the real world, when I reach out to a fellow specifier in So Florida (if I can find one), I get nada. Jeffrey should get a round of applause from this forum, he is a gentleman and a scholar, as my late father would say. I have benefited from Jeffrey's kindness in the past, his specs are well done, great guides. |

Thanks Jeffrey, I've been called a lot worse (mostly by Contractors). Yes indeed, thank you Colin for your efforts, 4specs.com is the best! Now that we are finished patting ourselves on the back, time to get back to writing specs. |
