Has anyone prepared specifications for a shop fabricated exterior wall system? I am thinking it wouldn't be much different than standard individual sections - if the contractor wants to shop fabricate the entire wall, they still need to comply with the requirements for each section. But, does anyone have language that addresses this, or another approach? |

Robin: MasterSpec 072413 describes their approach to panelizing EIFS that might serve as a good model for what you are after. It includes additional delegated design and performance requirements for the fabricated panels, cross-references to 054000 for the framing, panel edge treatments, and fabrication tolerances, as well as source quality control on the shop fabrication. There's also a corresponding Part 3 article and Part 1 shop drawing and QA requirements. |
