in google search all I am finding are builders and operators of obstacle courses.

Has anyone spec'd a wood log obstacle course? I assume if no spec appears, I can rough up rough carpentry a bit and issue that....?

Assume pine logs (straight wood and lower price) strip bark off to be round, apply sealer, assemble with lag bolts, footings, etc...

help!

The last time I did one, the spec read, "Take a group of 14 y.o. youth into the woods with a saw, an axe, and a coil of rope.

But if I was doing one today, it would probably have safety harnesses, too.

I'd be concerned about knots and branches. Be sure all protrusions are ground flush and sanded smooth.

With all due respect to the old "Cowboy after OSHA" poster: If I couldn't find a firm offering material + installation labor (plus insurance) for such an installation, I would recommend to the owner that they not issue such a specification. The first time little Ichabod trips and breaks his leg, his outraged attorney parents will be after the owner, the architect, and the specifier.
