We have a list of Millwork Companies listed in our Woodwork Spec. I hesitate to call them "approved" since the present state of the company is unknown. Wondering how you guys handle this? |

For this, MasterSpec uses "Fabricators" as it does "Manufacturers." ("Fabricators: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide products by one of the following.") This makes sense to me. |

I too avoid the terms "approved" and "accepted". I list manufacturers like this: 2.1 MANUFACTURERS A. Basis of Design: ABC Company. B. Other Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide products by one of the following: 1. DEF Inc. 2. GHI Enterprises. 3. JKL Manufaucturing. 4. Or approved substitute during the bid process per Specification Sections 002113 and 012500. David G. Axt, CCS, CSI, SCIP Specifications Consultant Axt Consulting LLC |
