I am looking for resources for use in developing a Division 00 Section for Survey Data to accompany the Section identifying Geotechnical Data and the limitation of responsibility for the use of the information by the Contractor.

Any responses?

003-series MasterSpec documents include provisions identifying info as being provided for convenience of Bidders but not a warranty of existing conditions.

Fixed it for you.

I was able to obtain an editing draft and edited it to only address Survey Information, with specific provisions for the subject project.

I note that there are more subjects to address than geotechnical data and survey information, depending upon the nature of the project (record drawings of original and subsequent construction, hazardous materials surveys, feasibility studies, esitimates of probable construction costs, etc.) The key to each of these is limitations of liability for their accuracy and use.

I had to make distictions between "information available to Contractor" and survey and other layout and engineering services performed by or for the Contractor, specified in Division 01, Section 01 78 29 - Survey and Layout Data.

I have developed Div 00 docs for radiation protection (for medical facilities) and wind studies (for high rise buildings).

Be careful you're not contradicting anything in the General Conditions as you are writing your Div 01 section. AIA A201 has language that allows the Contractor to rely on survey information provided by the Owner (See 2.2.3). The General Conditions for your project may vary.

My earlier distinction between Contractor and Bidder is important. If you are looking for Div 00 language, then Jeffrey's advice for the MasterSpec documents is good. The language in those sections is not intended to be part of the Contract Documents, only the Procurement Documents.

You probably don't need to state anything in any Div 01 sections about the survey provided by the Owner to the Contractor, because it might already be clear in the General Conditions.
